Interzoo Trade Fair for Pet Supplies is still growing
The international pet industry meets again at Interzoo in Nürnberg/Germany from 29 May to 1 June 2014: The current level of registrations indicates that about 1,700 manufacturers, wholesalers and service providers from over 50 countries will present their products and services at the world’s biggest trade fair for pet supplies. This means the world exhibition for the pet industry offers the professional audience a unique overview of the global market on a gross display area of approx. 110,000 square metres.
Norbert Holthenrich, President of the German Pet Trade & Industry Association (ZZF), expects the following trends in the pet food segment at Interzoo 2014 :“Healthy snacks, whether as rewards or treats for between times, are still popular in the food supplements segment. Moreover, pet keepers attach more and more importance to natural ingredients, careful processing and transparent labelling of pet food products with accurate details of their contents. The increasing processing of fresh meat for pet food will probably also be a noticeable trend at Interzoo.”
65 per cent of this year’s exhibitors are expected to present articles for dogs and cats, which corresponds to an increase of about 20 percentage points over the last Interzoo. The second largest product segment is aquaria with 22 per cent, followed by articles for small animals and rodents with 20 per cent. 15 per cent of the exhibitors present articles for birds, 12 per cent of the exhibiting companies show articles for animals in the garden, 11 per cent supplementary articles for the pet supplies trade like equestrian sports or boutique articles, and 11 per cent of the exhibitors show terraria articles. Other product groups are shop fittings and packaging (3 per cent), pet food technology (3 per cent), trade literature/multimedia (2 per cent) and miscellaneous services (4 per cent). Fast admission to the exhibition via online TicketShop
Interzoo visitors who buy their entrance tickets in the online TicketShop at www.interzoo.com/ticketshop benefit from quick admission to the exhibition via the fast lane without waiting at the ticket desk. The cheaper e-tickets are printed out immediately online, but entrance tickets can also be sent by post. Pet specialists who visited the last Interzoo in 2012 do not have to prove their eligibility as trade visitor again, but receive the login data for direct access to the online TicketShop by post.
As the world’s biggest trade fair for pet supplies, Interzoo is intended for trading companies that stock pets and/or pet supplies, manufacturers of pet food and accessories, veterinarians, official agencies and commercial users such as veterinary clinics, non-medical pet practitioners, boarding kennels and grooming salons. The Interzoo website (-> Exhibition Info) provides an exhibitors database, in which visitors, exhibitors and journalists can search for company names, products and product groups, and a special new product search is possible too. There they can also obtain a floor plan plus tips and offers for travel and accommodation.
Animal welfare at Interzoo
Interzoo is a trade fair for pet supplies, not for trading live animals. If an exhibitor wishes to present pets, he must register the presentation before the exhibition and adapt the form of keeping the animals to comply with the directives and provisions applicable in Germany. Examples of presentations not allowed are ornamental fish in column and wall-picture aquariums or reptiles in micro-terrariums.
The promoter of Interzoo is Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH (WZF), which has appointed NürnbergMesse GmbH to organize the exhibition. The German Pet Trade & Industry Association (ZZF) is the honorary sponsor of the exhibition.
